Should I go and explore?
Explore the secret and let it be told?
Should I find out what it means?
Or let it be and leave it sealed?

Quatrain By Maria Yousuf
Should I ignore it or keep distance?
Should I shun the insecurity and indifference?
Head in hands, washed with confusion
Lost midway without conclusions

Quatrain By Maria Yousuf
A sudden fluttering heart and then an ancient ache
I wish I knew this confusion
If it's all just a mistake

I want to spin and spin and fall on the floor
Jump off a roof and pretend to soar
I want to dive in the pool without knowing how to swim
Scream at the top of my lungs for a make believe win
I want to race at insane speeds and relish the thrill
Want to go cliff diving and roll down a hill
I want to do all that amuses me
With risks or without be
I want to be crazy
And a 100% me

The emerald leaves wrap me
And the ivory vines twine
The dark of the night cloaks me
As the enigmatic night shines

Quatrain By Maria Yousuf
In the ink of the night & ivory moon
I make up stories
Of me and you

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
You can speak without sound
You can tell without talking
You can say it all in stories
Your unspoken words written

Quench the thirsty land of parched loneliness
Feed the famished flowers of happiness
Breathe in the air of smiles above
Lets tour the universe of unconditional love

Quatrain By Maria Yousuf
Empty screams of faith yelled at me to be entrusted
I yelled back saying 'Be lost!
I haven't forgotten what you forgot'

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
Faster than a blink of an eye, time flew me by
I couldn't hold on to the ticking hands or falling grain
I just stood subdued as love was lost again

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
Only if you face hardships do you become stronger
Only if you are exposed do you learn more
So no matter where you are or what you do
You will always be a step ahead than what you knew

Quatrain By Maria Yousuf
Sometimes, its not your prince charming who comes to your rescue
Or your knight in shining armor
Its the boy next door, your best friend who comes to save you

The smallest things can make me happy
Breathing in nature's bliss
Watching adorable kids
Going on thrilling rides
Being around lovable pets and enjoying high tides

Limerick By Maria Yousuf
It is how a person feels pain
That tells you
How deep he stands

.:Where the Sun meets the Horizon:.

Where the sun meets the horizon is where you and I encounter
Where we lie on the beach and lace fingers together
Where we see the emperor of the sky sink deeper
Where the ticks of time don’t matter
Where sentiments entwine and sighs wander
Where smiles blush and sights ring with laughter
Where the sun meets the horizon is where you and I find forever
Where forever sings in the splayed colors

.:Bliss at the Shore and Sea:.

Credit: FreeFoto.com

I walk upon the drenched grains of sand, my feet sinking at each step. Tranquility rings in my ears, and serenity in my being. I close my eyes, breathe in the scent of the sea water and relish the tickle of the breeze. I sit down where the streaks of the waves overlap the underlying earth. I listen to the whistle of the breeze, the breeze that blows upon the waves and thumps on its beads of water. I listen to the chatter of the waves, the waves that crawl upon the shore and strum the grains of sand. I watch the unity of air, water and earth. The sound calms me and my presence floats in harmony. I have sought bliss in the silence of the shore and found peace in the hush of the waves. The stillness of everything that surrounds me, the bickering of what I stand before appeases me. There is bliss at the shore and at sea, bliss I have found within me, around me and afore me.

An inevitable and undeniable truth, death befalls all
Live for your hereafter
This life is preparation for the latter

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
You are My Life Line, My Guiding Light
My faith and trust, power and strength
My savior, Ya Allah of mine

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
It is my right, what I fight for
My liberty, what I protest for
It is...Freedom

My mask reveals truth
My veneer uncovers me
Don't look for a name for my facade is my identity

Haiku By Maria Yousuf

When I am invisible i' m most visible
Ill say and do things you might not believe
Ill be my true self when you don' t know me

I wish you could see me when I'm me
When I laugh and sing loudly
And jump and twirl like crazy
I want you to see me when my colors shine the brightest
When I am free and have nothing to hide

Limerick By Maria Yousuf
My presence is not forced
Leave if you please
I am more than the nothing you see in me

All my life I spent in hopes of you
But by the time you came
My time had run out

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
Sometimes all you need is a good cry
To let go and bid goodbye
To empty your heart of its miseries and sighs

Haiku By Maria Yousuf
I wish...
My wish could become a reality
As soon as I wish it

Why is it that To those
Who matter most to me,
I matter none at all?
